ProcEng Limited was established in 2014 as a platform for international collaboration to offer and share practically oriented Process Engineering experience and knowledge.
In 1993 Andries Burger and Cilliers Kruger, both professional process engineers, were colleagues at a crude oil refinery in South Africa. Our careers followed different routes over the years but our lasting friendship brought us together again in 2007 around the need and the development of practically orientated process design training. The resulting Process Design Practices training was developed by Cilliers (residing in Canada) while Andries from South Africa established it as an annual event in South Africa since 2008.

Although the initial focus for ProcEng would be to extend the Process Design Practices course (accredited in 2014 as an “IChemE approved course”) into the international market, other events focussing on process engineering experience and knowledge is foreseen, as well as more general topics, e.g. risk management practices.
Cilliers Kruger is a chemical engineer with 20 years’ international experience (Canada, UK, USA, and South Africa) in process plant simulation, design and operation. His experience covers the entire design process, from conceptual design to commissioning and operation. He has prepared design specifications for numerous plants and has a comprehensive knowledge of typical design practices.
